It was indeed a great pleasure to visit ALa again and to take part in the Forum Theatre workshop. It happened so, that I had a chance to perform a stranger – a Polish expert in social work sent over to train Irish people in their own local community. Obviously, such an intruder could not get a warm welcome in our TO piece. It was quite an…[Read more]

Puppets are magic indeed. Just recently, I run two puppetry workshops – one in Bielsko-Biała, and one in Krakow. This time we were exploring possibilities of making and animating simple paper puppets while working with seniors. Magic, despite the age.

Unfortunately, our “Grey matters” project is about to finish…

It has been a really busy and fruitful time for our team. We, Grodzki Theatre Junior (Bielsko-Biala, Poland), managed to create two performances – one for children (TWO-HEADED DRAGONS) and one for adults (BIRDS OF PASSAGE). In both we were experimenting with different kinds of…[Read more]

Dear Teresa, I am glad that you find the description of this session clear enough to run the workshop on your own. I will be happy to answer all your questions and doubts, especially as our experience in Florence raised so much emotion. Is Mick Sands going to co-lead the workshop? I am very curious how he sees his Bibliodrama adventure from a time…[Read more]

Hello Jim and my sincere congratulations on your succes!

I have been browsing over your website and I see that you are organizing a Summer Activist Camp under the title “Making the resistance really irresistible” in July. It sounds like a great project and it would be good to hear how it goes. Please let us know!

    Cheers, Maria

Many thanks to Zane and Jarmila for your comments!

I have to agree with Jarmila: Bibliodrama is indeed a very powerful tool and should be used carefully. I tried to emphasize it in the introduction to the above learning path through quoting at the beginning those participants who felt discouraged and even angry after our workshop. It would be…[Read more]

Hi Juan, I am afraid that it might be too strong experience for children, if one decides to follow the whole workshop scenario as we did it in Florence. I mean especially the act of destroying works created by participants. However, it should be possible and effective to use other techniques/exercises to explore the subject of diversity: warm-up…[Read more]

      Hello Maria,

Thank you for this workshop! I think I’m gonna talk about it to a school! Do you think this is suitable for children?

    INTRODUCTION
The working process described below was part of the International ARTES conference held in Florence on 14-15 November 2014.
The workshop led by Maria Schejbal on 15 November was a follow-up to the LLP Grundtvig project titled “Bibliodrama as a way of intercultural learning for adults” completed in 2013:…[Read more]

it was very good experience to take part in this bibliodrama workshop, for the first time.
the best was to be introduced to short, clear structure – theoretically and practically, to have open group and positive experience – it works!
      thanks!

I would like to stress that Bibliodrama is a technique used for educational and psychological purposes which are intertwined and can not be divided. As psychotherapeutic tool is used as a trigger for further „processing“ of current or past personal issues of different kind. The topic of workshop could make present „unresolved“ or painful…[Read more]

      So well described, Maria!
I think we’re going to have one workshop at The Mosaic. I might need to ask you for some suggestions.
      Thanks and kindest regards. Teresa

Dear Maria, thanks for your kind message. Mick is busy with singing, so it will be difficult to bring him into the workshop, but some other nice people could lead it. I’ll keep you updated. T.

    Hi Anthony,

it was ten years ago but I can still remember our great adventure with youth exchange in Greece. We created a visual show based on the myth of Persephone then. I started our work with an exercise with a big sheet of thin plastic. Playing with it and with the wind made participants to creatively explore the space outdoor and to…[Read more]

After the great theatrical adventure with two Irish workshop teams in November, I had a chance to test “OBJECTS AND STORIES” scenario with a mixed group of educators and trainers from Germany, Italy, Romania and South Africa in Berlin (22 February 2015). The workshop organized and hosted by our friends from Expedition-Metropolis was again…[Read more]
